Terms of Service

Last updated: October 4, 2026

1. Purpose

These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the Lyriot platform, available at lyriot.com. By creating an account, you accept these Terms in full. Lyriot is a social platform for discovering, creating and organising local events, with a gamification system (points, ranks, achievements), a referral programme, private messaging, a boost shop and premium subscription features.

2. Registration & account

  • Registration is free and open to anyone aged 15 or over.
  • You undertake to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity from your account.
  • Only one account per person is allowed. Creating multiple accounts is strictly prohibited.
  • You can register with an email address and password or through Google (OAuth). If you choose Google, you agree that Lyriot receives your Google name, email address and profile picture.
  • Lyriot reserves the right to suspend or delete any account that does not comply with these Terms, without notice and without refund where a breach is established.

3. Use of the platform

When using Lyriot, you undertake not to:

  • Post content that is unlawful, hateful, discriminatory or pornographic, or that glorifies violence
  • Harass, threaten or intimidate other users or entities, or impersonate them
  • Use the platform for commercial purposes not authorised by Lyriot
  • Attempt to circumvent security measures or to access data not intended for you
  • Create several accounts to evade sanctions or to manipulate the points, leaderboard or referral system
  • Use bots, scrapers or other unauthorised automated tools
  • Post fictitious or fraudulent events, or events intended to mislead attendees
  • Collect or store other users' personal data without their consent

4. User content

You remain the owner of the content you post (event photos, descriptions, comments, messages). By posting it, you grant Lyriot a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce and distribute that content on the platform as part of the service. You warrant that this content infringes no third-party rights (copyright, image rights, and so on).

Lyriot reserves the right to remove any inappropriate content without notice. Private messages are stored on our servers to keep the service running and may be reviewed by the moderation team where a report is substantiated.

5. Events

  • Organisers are entirely responsible for the content, conduct, lawfulness and safety of their events.
  • Lyriot does not organise the events posted on the platform and cannot be held liable for how they unfold, for accidents or damage, or for disputes between attendees and organisers.
  • Events must comply with the law of the country where they take place. Where an event requires official authorisation (public gatherings and the like), obtaining it is the organiser's responsibility.
  • Creating fictitious or fraudulent events intended to mislead attendees is strictly prohibited.
  • Organisers on the ORGANIZER subscription may create paid events. Payment is handled by Stripe. Lyriot takes a commission on each transaction.
  • Funds from paid events are paid out to organisers through Stripe Connect, once validated, according to the applicable Stripe timescales.
  • If an organiser cancels a paid event outright, attendees are refunded in full. For partial refunds or changes to the terms, the organiser's own policy applies.
  • A participant may cancel their own spot at a paid event and be refunded in full up to 48 hours before the event starts, or within one hour of purchase as long as the event has not started. After these deadlines, the spot is no longer refundable at the participant's initiative. A participant removed from an event by the organizer is refunded in full.
  • Events may carry access restrictions: gender, minimum or maximum age, minimum rank, manual approval, friends only, or verified accounts only. These restrictions are set by the organiser and must comply with the law.
  • Recurring events (weekly, monthly and so on) generate new occurrences automatically through a scheduled job.
  • Organisers have a QR code check-in system to confirm attendance at their events.
  • Organisers can duplicate an existing event to create an editable copy of it.

6. Subscriptions & payments

Lyriot offers paid subscriptions (MEMBER at €6.99/month or €59/year, and ORGANIZER at €12.99/month or €99/year) alongside the free tier (FREE). Payments are handled by Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically for the chosen period unless cancelled from Settings › Billing.

The Lyriot shop offers one-off boosts:

  • Points boosts: ×1.5 multiplier for 7 days (€1.99) or ×2.0 for 30 days (€4.99). Boosts stack: buying the same type extends its duration.
  • Event boosts: promote your event for 24 hours (€2.99), 7 days (€9.99), or a 3×24-hour pack (€6.99). Activated from the event page.

Payments are taken in your local currency (converted automatically from EUR). Boosts are activated immediately after payment and are non-refundable.

Under European law, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal on any subscription, unless you have expressly asked for the service to begin immediately (in which case that right is lost on activation). This right does not apply to boosts, which are activated immediately.

7. Organizer wallet (Stripe Connect)

Organisers who wish to receive payment for their events must create a Stripe Connect account from the /wallet page. This requires identity verification (KYC) carried out directly by Stripe:

  • Identity: surname, first name, date of birth, official document (passport, identity card)
  • Bank details: IBAN or bank account number
  • Company information where applicable: registered name, company or tax number, address

This data is processed and stored solely by Stripe, in accordance with their privacy policy. Lyriot never stores your identity documents or your bank details. Funds are transferred automatically according to Stripe's timescales once the event has been validated.

8. Referral program

Every user has a unique referral code, available from /referral.

  • To count as an active referral, a person must: have a verified email address, have attended at least 1 event, have waited 48 hours after signing up, and be someone other than the referrer.
  • Reward tiers: 5 referrals (bonus points) · 10 referrals (MEMBER days) · 25 referrals (MEMBER days) · 50 referrals (ORGANIZER subscription) · 100 active referrals (ORGANIZER for life).
  • Any attempt at manipulation (multiple accounts, fictitious referrals, bots, paid exchange of codes) is strictly prohibited and results in immediate suspension and the cancellation of all rewards.
  • Lyriot reserves the right to change the programme's conditions, tiers and rewards at any time.

9. Points & ranks system

The points system rewards activity on Lyriot through 11 sources (attending events, creating events, adding friends, verifying your email address, referrals, comments, check-ins, streaks, and so on).

  • Subscription multipliers: FREE ×1.0 · MEMBER ×1.15 · ORGANIZER ×1.3
  • Rank multipliers: Gold +5% · Elite +10% (cumulative with the subscription)
  • Ranks: Bronze (0–999 pts) · Silver (1,000–4,999 pts) · Gold (5,000–9,999 pts) · Elite (10,000+ pts)
  • Weekly, monthly and yearly leaderboards are reset periodically. Your total points and your rank are never reset.
  • Points and ranks are virtual rewards with no monetary value; they cannot be exchanged for real money or for outside services.
  • Lyriot reserves the right to change the points system, the thresholds, the multipliers and the sources at any time.

10. Messaging

Private messaging lets you exchange messages in real time. Messages are stored on our servers.

  • FREE users can send messages to their friends. Sending to non-friends is limited.
  • MEMBER and above get read receipts (a double tick showing that the recipient has read the message).
  • Deleted messages may have their content erased while the metadata (timestamp, participants) is kept.
  • Reported messages may be reviewed by the moderation team in order to handle the report.
  • Your "online" status (last activity) is visible to your friends and updated every 5 minutes.

11. Moderation

Lyriot has a moderation team and tools to keep the environment safe and respectful.

  • Every report (event, profile, comment, message) is reviewed within 24 working hours.
  • Possible sanctions: warning, removal of content, temporary suspension (of varying length), permanent ban, reset of points.
  • Where an account is banned for a serious breach of these Terms, subscriptions in progress are not refunded.
  • All moderation actions are logged.
  • You can challenge a decision through our contact form.

12. Liability

Lyriot is a platform that puts people in touch with one another. We are not responsible for what users do, for the content they post, for how events turn out, for accidents occurring at events, or for disputes between attendees and organisers.

Our liability is limited, so far as the law allows, to the amount paid by the user over the past 12 months. If a problem arises, please use the built-in reporting system.

13. Intellectual property

The Lyriot name, logo, design, interface and source code are the exclusive property of Lyriot. Any unauthorised reproduction, display or exploitation is prohibited and may be prosecuted.

14. Changes & termination

Lyriot may change these Terms at any time. Significant changes are notified by email or by a notification on the platform. Continuing to use the service constitutes acceptance.

You can delete your account from Settings › Danger zone. Termination results in the deletion of your data in accordance with our privacy policy.

15. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, the parties undertake to seek an amicable settlement before taking any legal action. Failing that, the French courts have jurisdiction. You may also use consumer mediation (European platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr).

These Terms are written in French. Versions in other languages are translations provided for information only; in the event of any discrepancy, only the French version is legally binding.
